The BMI calculator (body mass index) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women. It is a good indicator of health for the average adult who exercises moderately. This tool can be used for adults between the ages of 18 and 65.

However, this calculator is not a good measure for those who are competitively athletic as muscle weighs more than fat and categorical representation will be skewed. In fact, most competitive athletes will register as overweight or obese on the BMI scale.

BMI Categories
Underweight < 18.5  
Normal 18.5 to 24.9  
Overweight 25 to 25.9  
Obese Greater than 30
