Since everyone is talking about the amazing anti-inflammatory properties of ginger and turmeric, I figured I’d make a delicious recipe to help harness those properties in one delicious ginger and turmeric smoothie!
Ginger and turmeric are actually cousins, and both have been found to have some absolutely amazing properties. Ginger has been found in research to be great at reducing inflammation of the skin and helps to reduce inflammation due to rheumatism and musculoskeletal disorders.
This is because ginger works to actually change the genes that are causing the inflammation in the first place. This is why this ginger and turmeric smoothie is so powerful!
Research has shown that turmeric is one of the most anti-inflammatory plants in the world. The main ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, also helps to stop the enzymes in the body that are causing the inflammation, adding even more anti-inflammatory power to this ginger and turmeric smoothie.
Turmeric has been so widely researched that there are over 6,000 published research papers on the topic! In fact, science has even found that turmeric is better than even some medications at treating disease.

The frozen peaches and bananas give this ginger and turmeric smoothie a naturally sweet taste and a wonderfully smooth consistency without having to add extra ice. You can add the honey if you still find the ginger and turmeric taste too strong.
I don’t seem to need it because I love the bitter taste of both spices. The nutritional information at the bottom of the recipe includes the added honey, but in case you’re wondering what the nutrition info is without it, here it is:
